The Horses Need A Barn

custom horse barns TamworthWhen we originally moved to New South Wales I promised my daughter a horse. She wasn’t too happy about the move and the horse was a big part of the negotiation so pretty much as soon as we arrived we were looking at equestrian centres and horse barns around Tamworth. I figured it was the least I could do for shipping my entire family away from their home and to the countryside for my job. For my daughter the hardest part about moving was having to change schools. My heart broke when she said goodbye to her best friend, they were both sobbing. I had to put sunglasses on so my daughter couldn’t see my tears.

My husband took the move much better than, he had always wanted a quad bike and now had a good reason to buy one. I was more concerned about where we were going to put the horse. After looking around at different stable rental options I realised the cost of a horse is pretty hefty. There are lots of costs surrounding the maintenance and ongoing running of the horse and the stables that I hadn’t accounted for. Apparently quite a few families in the Tamworth area opted for a custom made horse stable on their grounds to cut down long term costs. Of course it meant all the tasks of looking after the horse would be down to my daughter but I thought that might be a good way to teach her about responsibility.  So I decided to take a slightly different tactic and started looking into custom made farm barns built in Tamworth. My daughter was pretty preoccupied by the horse itself and has left the whole stables selection to me. I don’t think she expected me to be designing her a custom made horse barn for our garden! One of the benefits of living in the country is the huge amount of space we have. We have enough land for multiple horses and a riding course! It’ll be great to see all the kids embracing the outdoor lifestyle.
